Dr. Pam Etchegoyen

Veterinarian

Veterinary medicine is Dr. Etchegoyen's passion. She is fascinated by all areas of this profession and strives to continue to learn ways of contributing to the betterment and overall health of our pets.

Dr. Etchegoyen was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was here where her love and dedication to animals started while helping her father raise and care for young Labrador Retriever pups she began striving to learn as much as possible about animal biology, physiology, disease process, and how to prevent/treat them. To Dr. Etchegoyen, our pets are more than companions, they are part of our family.

After finishing high school, she moved to California to continue her education where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of California, Davis. During this time, she also gained an eclectic background in different species of animals while working at the Davis goat and dairy barns, as a lab animal technician in antibody research, a student intern at the small animal surgery UC Davis Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital, assistant for the California State Fair in the farm animal nursery all the way through her veterinary education in Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine.

After graduating with her veterinary degree, Dr. Etchegoyen worked in a general practice veterinary hospital for small animals in Modesto, where she furthered her experience in different surgical procedures and continued to advance her knowledge in internal medicine cases, surgery and preventative care. Devoted to our community, Dr. Etchegoyen also works with the animal shelter in the Central Valley, helping with spays/neuters, continuing care and treatment of injured or ill animals so that they can find their forever home and family.

It is a pleasure for Dr. Etchegoyen to work side by side with clients, addressing their concerns, and guiding them on all possible options to help them select the best educated treatment plan towards the health of their furry companions. Compassionate, driven and dedicated to improving the lives of pets and people, Dr. Etchegoyen thrives to continue this passion while working together in the improvement of the overall health and happiness of your pets.

In her spare time, you can find Dr. Etchegoyen hiking local trails, traveling, enjoying the outdoors, jogging, and spending time with her family which includes their loving feline, Bagheera (aka El Gato). Dr. Etchegoyen looks forward to meeting you and your beloved pets soon.

Clinical interest: During her years in veterinary school, Dr. Etchegoyen developed a strong interest in small animal internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, public health, and preventative medicine/care.
